Susan Braden and her husband Rollin are avid outdoor enthusiasts and have lived in Alaska since 1965. We began using Karelian's for bear protection while horseback riding and for hunting trips in the backcountry. Our kennel began with Bearunoff, (REL/KBD) a dog that met our every outdoor need. Because of Bearunoff's incredible loyalty and the demand for bear protection, Bearunoff Kennels was created. We are now also breeding The Norrbottenspets which are also a small spitz type dog. They are very hardy and an extremely intelligent breed. Very popular in Finland & Sweden, these dogs make very good family pets.
